Even though life often feels like a whirlwind of tasks and responsibilities, I realize I have a responsibility to myself to bring balance and calm to my existence. So, I strive to bring tranquility to my life each day.
Throughout the day, I pay attention to my breathing so I can use breathing techniques to induce feelings of calm and lightness whenever I need them.
When striving for serenity challenges me, I make a conscious effort to re-focus my thoughts on my goal of experiencing peace and calm.
I put aside an hour. I play soft music. I grab a favored novel. Or, I might lie down, close my eyes, and imagine surroundings of soft white clouds or a pink sky. I continue my efforts until I experience tranquil feelings once again.
Sometimes, I take a slow walk through the neighborhood in the evening to find peace. Simply sitting on the porch and watching the world go by soothes and comforts me too.
Also, I seek tranquil feelings by setting an atmosphere in my home that invites peacefulness. In each room, I design colors, textures, and lighting that soothe me.
Today, I intend to make a special effort to welcome more peace in my home. Maybe I can paint a wall a favorite color. Perhaps I can bring in a soft, comfortable chair to relax in. Or I can set up an area to enjoy my favorite hobby. A fun day – a peaceful result!
