I Remain Calm in a Crisis
I remain calm in a crisis.
Many wonderful things occur in life. But life is also unpredictable. And whatever happens, positive or otherwise, can happen fast and strong.
I am compelled to feel peace and tranquility so I take actions that help me maintain my serenity, even in a crisis.
Occasionally, incidents occur that bring challenge, uncertainty, and even tragedy. I know that any day, including this day, can bring a crisis. I strive to be ready for the unexpected. My preparation helps me to be calm when the bottom drops out.
Even though experiencing a crisis deters me from proceeding in my expected direction, I know I can manage the crisis effectively and soon begin moving forward again.
I can handle a delay and restructure my plans as needed.
I find the place inside me that brings stillness and peace, even when situations trigger a roller coaster of emotions. If I connect with the fact that I have the power to control my feelings and reactions, I am encouraged.
The unknown nature of any crisis can be scary, but I am able to remain calm because I know that life goes on. I am urged to move forward and put one foot in front of the other.
Today, I reflect on ways to remain calm in a crisis.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How do I react when a crisis occurs?
- Do I know of anyone who reacts masterfully during a crisis? What can I learn from them?
- What steps can I take to increase the chances that I will remain calm when an unexpected challenge develops?
